Atoms to the Monaco Grand Prix 2012

Ever wanted to attend the Monaco Grand Prix? Ever wanted to drive your Atom round the famous circuit? Then read on.
A group of well-travelled Atom owners are planning a trip to the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix. These guys are veterans of quite a few Atom Club European trips so you're in safe hands!
The trip is planned to start on either Tuesday 22nd May or Wednesday 23rd May depending on which area of the country you are based in. The European leg of the journey begins with an overnight moto-rail journey on the Wednesday night from Dusseldorf to Alessandria in northern Italy. Booking details are here for the train. On arriving in Alessandria on Thursday morning you will set off for the hotel which will be your base for the Grand Prix weekend. This is around a three hour drive from Alessandria, taking in some spectacular coastline and those that are keen may attend Thursday practice in Monte Carlo. The aim is to arrive at the hotel around lunchtime and spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool or driving some of the local mountain passes! The hotel details are here; you should book from Thursday with check-out on Monday 28th May. On Friday the convoy will roll into Monaco for a quick lap around the track, Atom style, and then explore some of the glorious local roads in the region.
After watching the qualifying and race on the Saturday and Sunday you will make your way back up through France, taking in the best roads that it has to offer as well as more lovely hotels and food, arriving back in the UK on Friday 1st June for a well earned four day Bank Holiday weekend! All in all, the trip includes ten days of fantastic driving on some amazing roads with like-minded people in our amazing cars. The route and stop-over points have been planned to allow for relaxed days with long lunches and time to take in tourist type diversions en-route. More importantly, the routes take in some fantastic roads and scenery.
If you do wish to attend it is important to get the moto-rail train and hotel near Monaco booked ASAP to avoid disappointment. The hotels for the other nights will be of a standard familiar to those who have been on previous Atom trips. They have tended to be chateaux type hotels with plenty of secure parking and a well stocked bar.
